Islamabad: In an unprecedented initiative to connect aspiring students with leading universities, the first-ever Education Information Fair for intermediate students in government colleges of the Federal Directorate of Education started on September 2, 2024. The fair, organized by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, is set to run until September 14, offering students from Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) a platform to explore university admissions, eligibility criteria, scholarship opportunities, and test preparation tips.
According to Press Information Department, the fair was conceptualized by Mr. Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training. It features participation from some of Pakistan’s top universities, including NUST, FAST, IBA, ICMA, KIPS, GIKI, NCA, Pakistan Institute of Fashion Design, LUMS, Comsat, and SZABIST. On its first day, the event successfully brought together students and representatives from these institutions for interactive sessions that covered a wide range of topics such as application processes, admission criteria, and financial aid.
The launch day saw enthusiastic participation from students, who took advantage of the opportunity to engage directly with university representatives. Many expressed their appreciation for the valuable advice and detailed information provided, which they found crucial for making informed decisions about their higher education paths. The successful commencement of the Education Information Fair highlights its role in enhancing the transparency and accessibility of information in the higher education sector, thereby empowering students to achieve their academic aspirations.
