This development came to light during a meeting between the Ambassador of Iraq to Pakistan, Hamid Abbas Lafta, and a delegation from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by its President, Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions underscored the mutual interest in advancing trade and economic interactions. The Iraqi Ambassador emphasized that initiating trade through the Gwadar and Basra seaports would propel the bilateral relations to new heights, suggesting a strategic focus on maritime trade routes as a key area for development.
