Iran Acknowledges Pakistan’s Role in Mediating Historic Peace Deal


Tehran: Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its pivotal role in mediating a historic peace agreement. During a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Pezeshkian acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts, which were crucial in facilitating the Islamabad Peace Deal.



According to Radio Pakistan, the conversation marked the first interaction between the leaders following the peace agreement. President Pezeshkian conveyed Iran’s appreciation for Pakistan’s support during challenging times and emphasized Iran’s interest in strengthening bilateral relations across mutual areas of interest.



Prime Minister Sharif congratulated President Pezeshkian and the Iranian leadership on the peace deal, highlighting its significance for regional stability and bilateral ties. He also extended greetings to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, and assured continued support from Pakistan. Both leaders agreed to visit each other’s capitals to enhance cooperation and maintain close contact in the coming days.
