Interior Ministers of Pakistan and Türkiye Sign Agreement to Combat Crime and Terrorism


Istanbul: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with his Turkish counterpart, Mustafa Çiftçi, in Istanbul to discuss and sign a bilateral agreement aimed at enhancing cooperation in combating terrorism, narcotics trafficking, and organized crime. The meeting, held at the Turkish Ministry of Interior, also resulted in the formation of a Joint Working Group to bolster collaboration between the two countries’ interior ministries.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting highlighted Pakistan’s successful efforts in reducing illegal immigration to Türkiye, with Turkish Interior Minister Çiftçi noting a significant decline from 70% to 17% in such activities. Both leaders expressed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties through technical assistance, expert exchanges, and joint initiatives. The discussions also covered potential enhancements in cyber policing and collaboration between their national police academies and anti-narcotics forces.
