Interior Minister Promises Justice and Support for Family of Slain Islamabad Policeman

Islamabad: In the wake of the tragic death of Islamabad Police constable Abdul Hameed Shah, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has vowed to bring those responsible to justice and announced significant support for the deceased officer’s family. Speaking after the constable’s funeral prayers on Sunday, Naqvi detailed a comprehensive assistance package for Shah’s family, including employment opportunities for his sons.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Naqvi dismissed rumors of the arrest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur but confirmed that authorities possess evidence of Gandapur’s hasty departure from KP House in Islamabad amidst the recent disturbances. The minister emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring that all involved in the violent incident, which led to Shah’s death, would face legal proceedings.

The announced “Shaheed package” for Shah’s family underscores the government’s recognition of his sacrifice and aims to provide stability and support for his bereaved relatives. The gesture also reflects the ongoing efforts to address the repercussions of the violent clashes that have rocked the capital, stressing the state’s role in supporting the families of those who serve in law enforcement.
