ISLAMABAD: Over 380 individuals were scrutinized during a comprehensive city-wide search operation in the capital, as part of an intensified effort by the Islamabad Police to curb crime and target criminal elements.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operations were conducted under the special directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The grand search and combing operations, which aimed to enhance security and clamp down on criminal activity, were carried out under the supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, with oversight by the respective zonal SPs.

During these operations, a thorough check was conducted on 380 individuals, along with 185 households, 22 hotels, 90 shops, 162 motorcycles, and 63 vehicles. This led to the detention of one Afghan national, 18 suspicious individuals, and 27 motorcycles, all of whom were transferred to the police station for further verification. An individual found in possession of illegal weapons was also arrested, with authorities recovering a rifle, a pistol, and ammunition from the suspect.

SSP Operations Islamabad emphasized that these search operations are part of a broader strategy to tighten control over criminal elements and strengthen the security framework across the city.
