LAHORE: The Institute of Public Health (IPH) Lahore has announced a strategic partnership with Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, to bolster public health systems and improve individual health outcomes in Pakistan. The collaboration aims to address major public health challenges through evidence-based interventions, innovations, and capacity-building initiatives.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the agreement encompasses a comprehensive approach to enhancing preventive and curative healthcare. Key areas of focus include the prevention, surveillance, and control of communicable diseases, as well as maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health programs. The partnership will also facilitate preventive screening for women and children and emphasize timely diagnosis and medical intervention.

Furthermore, the agreement seeks to elevate the capabilities of health workers and public health professionals through professional development, digital health innovation, and improved disease surveillance. Leadership skill development, quality improvement, and strengthened health systems are additional objectives, alongside joint educational programs, technical training, workshops, and research exchange initiatives. This collaboration is positioned as a milestone in reducing infectious disease burdens and enhancing maternal and child health outcomes across Pakistan.
