Islamabad: The Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, emphasized the importance of sports in unlocking the potential of the youth, calling for collaborative efforts to promote sports activities across the country. Speaking after a friendly match between the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Sports Journalists Association and UK media teams, Tarar highlighted sports as a crucial means of engaging young people in constructive activities.
Tarar underscored the need for all stakeholders to work together in promoting sports, which he described as essential for youth engagement. He mentioned that the Sports Hunt program, which was initiated during the previous tenure of the PML-N government, has been relaunched to provide a platform for young individuals to showcase their talents.
The Minister also noted the revival of departmental sports, aimed at promoting athletic activities and nurturing talent that can represent Pakistan on international stages. He stressed that the promotion of sports remains a key priority for the government, advocating for the construction of an international standard cricket stadium in Islamabad to further support this initiative.
