Information Minister Criticizes PTI Founder’s Call for Open Trial of Faiz Hameed as Interference in Army Affairs

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar has criticized the founding Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), calling his demand for an open trial of Lieutenant General (Retired) Faiz Hameed as undue interference in the internal matters of the Pakistan Army.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Tarar stated that the PTI founder is attempting to create controversy around the case of Faiz Hameed through repeated statements. The Minister emphasized that the founder’s defense of Hameed suggests a lack of respect for the army’s internal processes and highlights a personal connection between Hameed and the PTI leader.

Further, Tarar pointed out that the PTI leader’s recent statements reflect his own frustrations and possibly divert attention from his involvement in other significant legal issues, including a case concerning 190 million pounds. The Minister argued that the PTI founder’s actions demonstrate a pattern of using individuals for his own benefit and then discarding them.
