Islamabad: Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party of spreading false narratives to damage the reputation of the state.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Tarar, in a televised statement, alleged that PTI is propagating fabricated stories regarding reports of firing on protesters. He challenged the party to provide evidence of law enforcement officers firing at demonstrators, noting the absence of any fatalities. The Minister stated that PTI’s claims of casualties are unfounded and that images of deceased bodies circulated on platforms like TikTok, Facebook, X, and WhatsApp are fictitious.
The Minister further accused PTI of attempting to mislead the public with false statements. He highlighted that despite the deaths of four Rangers personnel and a police official, PTI has not extended condolences to the affected families.
