Raipur: In a recent operation, Indian security forces killed five individuals identified as Maoists in Chhattisgarh, a state frequently affected by violence.
According to Kashmir Media Service, The engagement took place in the Narayanpur district’s dense Abhujmad forest under the jurisdiction of the Kohkameta police station. A coordinated effort involving multiple forces including the Indian Border Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, District Reserve Guard, and Special Task Force was underway as part of an anti-Naxal operation when the gunfight erupted.
Inspector General of Police for the Bastar range, Sunderaj P, confirmed the deaths of the five Maoists during the conflict. He noted that this incident is part of a broader series of engagements that have resulted in the deaths of 138 Maoists across the state this year. The majority of these encounters occurred in the Bastar division, which spans seven districts, with two additional fatalities reported in the Dhamtari district, under the Raipur division.
