Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has condemned the alleged widespread arrests of youths by Indian forces in the Indian-administered region of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC-AJK General Secretary Advocate Pervez Shah, alongside senior leaders Muhammad Farooq Rehmani and Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, stated from Islamabad that Indian forces have intensified their operations in the contested area. They alleged that these forces are using violent tactics to suppress the Kashmiri freedom struggle.
The leaders pointed to cordon-and-search operations in districts such as Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur, Reasi, and Doda, where numerous youths have reportedly been arrested. They claimed that Indian troops invade homes, harass residents, vandalize property, and detain individuals without cause during these operations.
The APHC-AJK leadership reiterated that such measures would not deter the Kashmiri population’s desire for freedom. They called on the international community to exert pressure on India to halt these actions and to work towards resolving the Kashmir issue in a manner that aligns with international law and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
