Indian army camp attacked in Nagaland, strike observed on I-Day

New Delhi, August 16, 2022 (PPI-OT): Manipur and Nagaland observed complete shutter down strike with no traffic on roads in connection with India’s Independence Day celebrations, while an Indian Army camp was attacked in Nagaland in which two soldiers were injured. Partial strike was also observed at scattered places in Assam. United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) flags were also hosted on few places.

ULFA-I led by Paresh Baruah, called for the strike raising objections to the celebration of Independence Day in Assam, saying that the state was “never a part of colonial India”. Meanwhile, National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-K-YA) in an attack on Indian Army camp in Nagaland’s Mon district injured two Indian troopers.
