Indian Air Force Jet Crashes in Gujarat; Search Underway for Missing Pilot


New Delhi: A Jaguar fighter jet of the Indian Air Force crashed during a training mission near Jamnagar in Gujarat on Wednesday night, according to police officials. One pilot successfully ejected from the aircraft, while another is reported missing.



The incident occurred in an open field at Suvarda village, about 12 kilometers from Jamnagar city. The crash resulted in a fire, as confirmed by District Superintendent of Police Premsukh Delu.



Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the crash. “While one pilot safely ejected before the crash, another one is still missing. The aircraft caught fire after the crash landing. Police and firefighters have rushed to the spot and started searching for the missing pilot,” said Delu.



Efforts to locate the missing pilot are ongoing, with local police and fire services actively involved in the search operation. Further details about the incident have yet to be released by the Indian Air Force.



The crash marks a significant incident in the region, drawing attention to the safety and operational protocols of military training exercises.
