India Suspends Kashmiri Government Employees for Election Duty Absence

Srinagar: Indian authorities have recently suspended two government employees in Jammu and Kashmir for failing to perform election duties, intensifying the ongoing administrative crackdown in the region. This action reflects a broader pattern of suspensions, transfers, and terminations being enforced across the occupied territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the employees facing suspension are Kulbushan Koul, a Head Assistant at the Zonal Education Office in Dudu, and Jaswant Singh, a teacher at Government Primary School, Kothi. Both were involved in the general elections, with Koul designated as a Presiding Officer but failing to attend the required election training sessions.

These latest suspensions follow the earlier disciplinary actions this month where 21 government employees were similarly suspended by the Chief Electoral Office for neglecting election-related responsibilities. The pattern of targeting local employees on minor infractions continues to underscore the heightened scrutiny and pressures faced by government workers in the region under Indian administration.
