IMF Chief Acknowledges Pakistan’s Economic Reforms and Stability

Washington, D.C.: The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Ms. Kristalina Georgieva, has expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s continued progress on economic reforms during her interaction with Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, at the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings 2026.

According to Press Information Department, Ms. Georgieva, in a statement shared on social media, noted that Pakistan’s strong implementation of its reform programme has contributed to maintaining macroeconomic stability and building investor confidence. She emphasized that sound economic policies, coupled with deeper structural reforms, would be essential for sustaining economic growth and improving the welfare of the people of Pakistan.

The remarks are seen as a recognition of Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining economic stability through prudent policymaking, reflecting growing international acknowledgment of the country’s reform efforts.
