IGP Islamabad Reviews Progress and Security Measures for Model Jail

ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi chaired a meeting to assess the progress of the under-construction Islamabad Model Jail, urging the project’s completion in line with modern standards and emphasizing advanced security measures.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the IGP’s meeting included SSP Prisons Islamabad Ali Akbar, where they reviewed the ongoing development of the jail project. The focus was on enhancing security arrangements, improving CCTV and surveillance systems, and ensuring effective emergency responses. The IGP also highlighted the need for modern training for jail staff to facilitate the early operationalization of the facility.

Following the IGP’s directives, a subsequent meeting was held by DIG Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar, AIG General/Development Inayat Ali Shah, and staff to discuss administrative affairs, office performance, and departmental efficiency. The officers were instructed to improve discipline, digitize office systems, ensure the timely completion of projects, and enhance public service delivery.

An orderly room was conducted by DIG Headquarters at the Central Police Office to address both departmental and personal issues faced by police officers. Immediate orders were issued for urgent matters, while other issues were referred for prompt resolution. Welfare initiatives for police employees, including housing, healthcare, education, improved duty hours, and welfare packages, were also highlighted as ongoing efforts to boost morale and ensure the welfare of police personnel.
