Islamabad: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, conducted a comprehensive review of the police force’s adoption of modern technology, the Safe City initiative, and surveillance systems during a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office. Attended by all DIGs, SSPs, Zonal SPs, and other senior police officials, the meeting focused on enhancing the operational aspects and service delivery of the Islamabad Police.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting addressed various facets of modern policing, including institutional reforms, capacity building, and initiatives to improve police services for citizens. Senior officers discussed the use of modern technology, the expansion of the Safe City system, and intelligence-led policing. The agenda also included the enhancement of the emergency response system and digital technologies for crime prevention.

IGP Rizvi instructed officers to optimize modern technology usage for crime prevention and efficient criminal apprehension. The meeting also evaluated patrolling, police response, and resource availability, emphasizing community-oriented policing and efficient public complaint redressal.

The IGP called for the effective use of resources to bolster field policing and maintain law and order in the capital. He stressed professionalism, integrity, and responsibility among officers to boost public confidence. The discussion included transparent recruitment, professional training, and human resource development, with directives to recruit competent and honest individuals on merit.

IGP Rizvi reiterated that modern technology, a strong institutional framework, and a trained workforce are key to modern policing, and reaffirmed the commitment of Islamabad Police to protect citizens and enforce the law with integrity and professionalism.
