ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi conducted a comprehensive review of crime control measures, security situations, and public services in a recent meeting, focusing on enhancing safety and improving community relations.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting included Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq and SP City Zone Dr. Ayaz Hussain. Discussions centered on evaluating the law-and-order scenario, crime prevention strategies, security protocols, and public service enhancements in the federal capital. IGP Rizvi emphasized the importance of reinforcing actions against criminal elements and ensuring the presence of police officers in the field.

The performance of the City Zone, patrolling systems, and police responsiveness were scrutinized, with directives given to senior officers to bolster efforts in these areas. IGP Rizvi reiterated that protecting citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority and urged officers to perform their duties with integrity and accountability. Enhancing patrolling systems to prevent crimes promptly was highlighted as a key objective.

Emphasizing the need for improved public interaction, IGP Rizvi called for better coordination and a professional attitude in dealing with citizens. He underscored the importance of building trust between the police and the public through courteous engagement.

IGP Rizvi also hosted an open court session under the “Open Door Policy” at the Central Police Office in Islamabad, where he addressed grievances from citizens and police officers, issuing immediate orders for resolution. He stressed the importance of resolving issues based on merit and urged citizens to engage with these open sessions for assistance.

Furthermore, IGP Rizvi instructed relevant officers to resolve citizen applications promptly and report back to the Central Police Office. He also mandated adherence to office timings by Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) to prioritize public concerns. As part of ongoing efforts, the Islamabad Police continues to implement measures aimed at improving facilities for citizens, with daily open court sessions facilitating swift resolution of public issues.
