Islamabad: An important meeting led by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, concluded with directives for an intensified crackdown on criminal activities and illegal weapons possession in the capital city. The gathering, attended by senior police officials including DIG Islamabad, SSP Investigation, and SSP Operations, focused on enhancing ongoing operations against criminal elements and improving investigation quality.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the IGP emphasized the need for intelligence-based operations targeting criminal elements and instructed officers to enhance actions against proclaimed offenders and habitual criminals. The meeting reviewed the progress of tasks assigned to various officers and discussed the ongoing “Weapon-Free Islamabad Campaign.” The campaign aims to curb the possession, public display, and trade of illegal weapons.

IGP Rizvi directed officers to ensure that investigations are conducted strictly on merit, based on evidence, and in compliance with legal standards, while also ensuring effective prosecution of cases in court. He stressed that legal action against individuals involved with illegal weapons must be strict, with no tolerance for negligence.

Further instructions were given for effective monitoring of operations aligned with assigned targets and maintaining close coordination among officers. The IGP reiterated that the protection of citizens and crime prevention are the top priorities of the Islamabad Police.
