IGP Complaint Centre Resolves Over 53,000 Public Complaints in Punjab


Lahore: Punjab Police’s IGP Complaint Centre 1787 has successfully resolved more than 53,000 public complaints this year, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to addressing citizens’ grievances. According to Punjab Police, the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, emphasized that complaints are being resolved within designated timelines as per the standard operating procedures. The monitoring mechanism has been enhanced to further improve the performance of the complaint centre, with District Police Officers personally overseeing the complaints’ resolution.



The Punjab Police spokesperson reported significant progress in various complaint categories, including the resolution of 25,061 complaints related to case registration and 12,796 complaints concerning delayed investigations. Additionally, the centre has addressed 3,884 complaints related to police services and 11,834 departmental and other types of grievances. Further resolutions include 2,859 complaints about the arrest of accused persons, 4,524 related to recoveries, and 2,627 concerning faulty investigations. Moreover, 1,321 complaints regarding the cancellation of false cases and 897 related to changes of investigation have been resolved. Inspector General Abdul Kareem has urged citizens to contact the 1787 Complaint Centre without hesitation for any issues involving police officials.
