IG Sindh Emphasizes Police-Business Community Partnership at FPCCI Event

Inspector General of Police Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, visited the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and attended a special event organized by the business community. FPCCI President Atif Ikram, Senior Vice President Khalid Nawab, and other representatives, including former CPLC Chief Ahmed Chinoy, were present to discuss strengthening ties between the police and the business sector. According to Sindh Police, the event focused on fostering a sustainable relationship between the business community and law enforcement. FPCCI President Ikram praised the appointment of police focal persons in every district, citing the move as a key factor in improving security and reducing street crime in Karachi. He emphasized that ongoing collaboration and communication between police and business leaders are essential for addressing current security challenges, including extortion and kidnapping. f ANPR and facial recognition cameras at key entry and exit points in the province. He also noted the positive impact of police operations against criminal networks, resulting in the recovery of stolen goods and a marked decrease in kidnappings. Memon reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the police force with a budget of 4.7 billion PKR allocated to improve police stations and technological interventions, such as an online driving license system. At the event’s conclusion, IG Memon awarded certificates to police focal persons on behalf of the FPCCI, reiterating the importance of continued cooperation between the police and the business community to maintain peace and security in the region.
