Karachi, In a compassionate move to support the welfare of police officials and their families, Inspector General Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has overseen the release of 15 lakh 50 thousand rupees for the medical expenses of police employees battling serious illnesses. This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to addressing the health concerns of its workforce, ensuring they receive the necessary medical care.
According to Punjab Police, the allocation of funds was made after careful consideration of various cases by the welfare committee led by Additional IG Welfare Riaz Nazir Gara. Among the beneficiaries are Shahbaz Ahmed, a head constable from Lahore Police, who received 05 lakh rupees for kidney infection treatment, and driver constable Arif Hayat from Attock police, who was allocated two and a half lakh rupees for cancer treatment. Other recipients include PHP Punjab Driver Constable Ikram ullah for kidney treatment, ASI Malik Javed Akhtar for a prosthetic leg, and Constable Muhammad Aslam for brain tumor treatment, among others.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has emphasized the importance of leveraging the welfare fund for the health welfare of police employees and their families, directing that all possible measures be taken to assist those in need. This gesture not only aids the affected officials in their time of need but also boosts morale within the force, highlighting the department’s dedication to its members’ well-being.
