Lahore: In a significant move to support the health needs of police employees’ families, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has authorized the release of an additional PKR 2.15 million for the treatment of their children suffering from severe illnesses.
According to Punjab Police, this funding will aid several families across various districts, including Lahore, in obtaining critical medical treatments for their children. Among the beneficiaries, Constable Khadim Hussain of Dera Ghazi Khan was granted PKR 1 million for his three-year-old son’s bone marrow operation. Other allocations include PKR 300,000 to ASI Agha Baqir of Rahim Yar Khan for his five-year-old son’s heart surgery and similar amounts to families for cancer treatments and major surgeries.
These funds were allocated following thorough deliberations and approvals by the Medical Financial Assistance Committee. This initiative is part of the broader “Hamaray Phool Project,” which earlier this year distributed over PKR 220 million for similar purposes. Dr. Anwar emphasized the Punjab Police’s commitment to the welfare of its members’ families, underscoring ongoing support for their health and educational needs.
