Lahore: The International Cricket Council has imposed a 5 percent match fee penalty on the Pakistan Cricket Team for maintaining a slow over-rate during the third One Day International against New Zealand. This sanction marks the third consecutive fine in the series, as Pakistan was previously penalized for similar infractions in the earlier two matches.

According to the ICC, the Pakistan team was one over short of the required rate in the allotted time during the third ODI. This shortfall has prompted the governing body to enforce the financial penalty, following its regulations on over-rate offenses.

Pakistan’s Captain, Mohammad Rizwan, accepted responsibility for the oversight. His acknowledgment comes as the team faced challenges in maintaining the required pace throughout the series.
