Hub: The District Administration in Hub is intensifying preparations for an imminent anti-polio campaign, set to commence on September 9. Deputy Commissioner Ruhana Gul Kakar chaired a critical meeting to finalize the Polio Microplan, which aims to vaccinate 90,880 children across 22 union councils.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting saw key inputs from WHO Surveillance Officer Dr. Dawood and National Staff Officer for Polio in Hub District, Dr. Nazir Ahmed Ronja. They outlined a robust strategy for the five-day vaccination drive, highlighting the government’s commitment to eradicating polio and ensuring a polio-free future for Pakistan’s children.
During the session, the performance of polio workers was scrutinized, and the training needs of line department officers and workers were discussed to enhance campaign effectiveness. A consensus was reached on providing security to all teams involved in the vaccination effort, with a warning that unsatisfactory performance reports from area in-charges and monitors could lead to disciplinary action.
Deputy Commissioner Kakar emphasized the severity of polio, noting its potential to cause paralysis by affecting the brain and spinal cord. She affirmed the administration’s dedication to executing the campaign efficiently to protect children from the lifelong disabilities associated with the polio virus.
