Islamabad: Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja inaugurated Huawei’s national-level Spare Parts Repair Center in Islamabad, a move aimed at enhancing local repair capacity and reducing dependence on international services. Huawei Pakistan CEO Mr. Ethan Sun attended the event.

According to Press Information Department, Minister Khawaja highlighted the center’s role in fostering a skilled workforce and transitioning Pakistan from a technology consumer to a creator and exporter of digital solutions. She noted the center’s importance in strengthening the telecom ecosystem and building local expertise. The Minister commended Huawei for its investment and commitment to capacity building, emphasizing the partnership’s contribution to a resilient and digitally empowered Pakistan.

Mr. Ethan Sun expressed Huawei’s pride in partnering with Pakistan to develop sustainable technical expertise. He noted that the facility embodies Huawei’s vision of transforming global technology into local capability, which will ensure faster service and stronger networks.

The Repair Center offers repair, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance for Huawei equipment nationwide. It promises quicker turnaround times, improved network resilience, and cost savings, enhancing customer service. With 16 specialized desks, the facility manages over 180 equipment item codes and uses Huawei’s diagnostic platforms for fault detection and load testing.

Staffed by over 10 local specialists with extensive Huawei maintenance experience, the center can process over 10,000 modules annually, with a success rate of about 60 percent. This capability reduces the need for replacements and reliance on overseas repairs. The center’s local resources also enable swift responses during national emergencies, ensuring network continuity.
