Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Launches First Export of Built-Up Units, Boosting Industrial Growth

Lahore: In a significant development for Pakistan’s automotive industry, Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan has launched its inaugural export of completely built-up (CBU) units. The company dispatched its first batch of 40 Honda CITY 1.2L units to Japan, marking a milestone in its international expansion efforts.

The ceremony, held at Honda Atlas’s facilities, was attended by prominent figures, including the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan. Other key attendees included Saif Anjum, Secretary of the Ministry of Industries and Production, and Khuda Baksh Ali, CEO of the Engineering Development Board.

Haroon Akhtar Khan praised Honda’s achievement, noting that it aligns with the government’s objectives for economic growth and industrial development. He highlighted the need for public-private collaboration to enhance Pakistan’s competitiveness in the global automotive market.

During his visit, Khan commended the company’s advanced production facilities and reaffirmed the government’s support for the automotive sector through policy reforms and infrastructure development. Aamir H. Shirazi, representing the company, acknowledged the government’s role in fostering a conducive business environment.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony and a tree plantation activity were part of the event, symbolizing Honda’s commitment to sustainability. Takafumi Koike, representing Honda, emphasized the brand’s focus on innovation and its global legacy.

Khan encouraged other local manufacturers to explore international market opportunities, expressing optimism about Pakistan’s potential to become a regional hub for automotive production and export. This achievement by Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan is seen as a step towards realizing the country’s broader industrial and economic goals.
