Rajshahi: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan organized the Pakistan Higher Education Expo in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, as part of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor. This event follows successful exhibitions in Dhaka and Barishal, aiming to foster academic collaboration and introduce scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students.

According to Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the expo featured participation from 20 renowned Pakistani universities, emphasizing the 500 Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships available for Bangladeshi youth. The University of Rajshahi hosted an orientation session conducted by HEC, attracting students, parents, and the general public. Attendees received guidance on the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor and its components from HEC and university representatives.

Prof. Mohammad Main Uddin, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Rajshahi, served as the chief guest and commended the initiative for strengthening academic ties between the two nations. He urged students to apply for the scholarships and underscored the role of education, academic exchange, and research collaboration in enhancing mutual understanding between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

In his address, Mr. Muhammad Wasif, Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan in Bangladesh, highlighted the significance of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations. He announced the launch of the second phase of scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students and encouraged them to pursue higher education in Pakistan.

Director General (Scholarship) HEC Mrs. Aayesha Ikram and Project Director Allama Iqbal Scholarships Programme Mr. Jehanzeb Khan also addressed participants, offering insights into scholarship opportunities, admission procedures, and academic facilities for Bangladeshi students in Pakistan. Under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor initiative, a total of 500 fully funded Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships are available, with the first batch of 74 students already enrolled in various disciplines in Pakistan, marking progress in bilateral educational cooperation.
