ISLAMABAD: The selection of intending pilgrims for the Hajj pilgrimage during the years 2027 to 2030 will be conducted through a digital waiting list, prioritizing a first-come, first-served method.

According to Radio Pakistan, Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf announced the new policy framework at a news conference in Islamabad. Under the policy, pilgrims will have the opportunity to register for their preferred year by making an initial deposit of ten percent of the total estimated Hajj expenditure.

The Minister detailed that the policy will introduce multiple Hajj packages of varying durations under the Government Hajj Scheme. He stated that sixty percent of the Hajj quota will be allocated to this government scheme, while the remaining forty percent will be reserved for private Hajj operators. Furthermore, all Hajj payments are to be processed through designated government banking channels, and a third-party audit will be conducted to ensure transparency in all arrangements.
