Gunman Injures Muslim Cleric in Uttar Pradesh Shooting


Meerut: In a disturbing incident in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a Muslim religious leader was shot and injured by an unidentified gunman. The attack occurred outside a mosque, raising concerns about religious safety in the region governed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).



According to Kashmir Media Service, the victim, identified as Naeem, 35, was standing outside the mosque in the Lisadi Gate police station area when he was shot. Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Ayush Vikram Singh reported that the bullet grazed Naeem’s ear. Following the incident, the cleric was quickly admitted to a hospital where he is currently in stable condition.



The police have identified a suspect named Sartaj, who is believed to be responsible for the attack. Efforts to apprehend him are underway. The mosque, located in a densely populated area, is now at the center of a tense investigation by local authorities.
