LAHORE: Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has commended Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and his team for significant economic progress over the past year. Speaking at a news conference in Lahore, she highlighted the recent power tariff reduction as a substantial benefit for the nation.

Aurangzeb emphasized that the relief has been well-received across all societal segments, noting its significance during the ongoing International Monetary Fund Program. She attributed part of this success to the critical role played by Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir.

The minister reported a notable decrease in Pakistan’s inflation rate to 0.7 percent within a year and a reduction in the interest rate to 12 percent. She also mentioned the positive performance of the stock market.

Aurangzeb further outlined the Punjab government’s initiatives, including the largest Kissan Package for farmers in the province’s history and the distribution of rations to needy families through the Ramadan Package.
