Govt Pledges Support for Journalist Welfare, Says Information Minister


ISLAMABAD: The Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, affirmed the government’s commitment to supporting journalists and resolving media-related issues. This assurance came during a meeting with the newly-elected President of the National Press Club, Abdul Razaq Sial, and Secretary Dr. Furqan Rao in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Information Minister highlighted the National Press Club’s important role in addressing the challenges faced by journalists and in promoting professional values. He acknowledged the club as a significant voice for the welfare of the journalist community.



The discussions during the meeting covered various topics, including a housing quota, a grant received by the National Press Club under the Public Sector Development Programme, and health insurance. Attaullah Tarar gave necessary directives concerning the grant intended for constructing the National Press Club building under the PSDP.
