Karachi, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tesori, speaking at the launch of Pakistan’s first hybrid vehicle developed by the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), underscored the critical role of young Pakistanis in the nation’s future. The event celebrated the innovations of Pakistani students and the potential for significant national advancements through their efforts.
According to Sindh Governor House, at the ceremony hosted by Commodore Tauqeer, Governor Tesori expressed his commitment to supporting youth-driven initiatives, stating his willingness to sponsor events that elevate Pakistan’s profile. He questioned why Pakistan lags behind despite its resources and potential, urging attendees to explore solutions for national progress.
The governor was optimistic about the future, citing the proactive steps his office has taken to educate and train the youth. He reported that 550,000 children have been tested for various skills at the governor’s house, with 50,000 currently enrolled in IT classes and plans for 22,000 more to receive similar training. Furthermore, he announced the Youth Employment Scheme, which will provide non-refundable grants ranging from one lakh to one crore rupees to support young entrepreneurs.
Governor Tesori also revealed plans for a new NEST campus in Karachi, aiming to enhance access to modern science and technology education, reflecting his priorities for improving education, employment opportunities, and investment in the region.
