Karachi: The Governor House is set to become a focal point for fostering Pak-China investment, following a significant meeting between Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tesuri and Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong. The discussions, which emphasized the deep-seated friendship and ongoing cooperative projects between Pakistan and China, highlighted several key areas of mutual interest including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), information technology development, and renewable energy investments.
According to Sindh Governor House, the Chinese Ambassador appreciated the robust ongoing projects initiated by the Governor, expressing a strong commitment to bolstering the bilateral ties. The meeting underscored the mutual desire to leverage China’s development model to accelerate regional progress, particularly through the completion of strategic projects like the circular railway under CPEC.
Governor Tesuri emphasized the importance of sustainable peace in the province for cultivating a favorable investment climate. He reassured that the Governor House will actively support investors from both countries, echoing the sentiments of national leaders for collective economic development. The Chinese Ambassador reassured that the Hexing Group is poised to initiate the manufacturing of inverters and batteries in Pakistan, marking a significant move towards collaboration in the renewable energy sector.
During the meeting, Governor Tesuri presented traditional gifts to the Ambassador, who also participated in a tree planting campaign at the Governor House. The discussions further delved into the security concerns for Chinese investors, with assurances of full protection and support to foster a safe investment environment.
