Government Plans 282MW Clean Energy Boost for National Grid by 2024

Islamabad, The government is charting its course to amplify the national grid system by injecting 282 megawatts (MW) of eco-friendly energy by the upcoming year. This enhancement will harness the potential of solar, wind, and biomass energy sources.

According to a news release by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, officials shed light on the forthcoming energy projects, revealing that solar energy would contribute a substantial 150 MW, followed by wind energy with 100 MW, and biomass rounding up the remaining 32 MW. Furthermore, they specified that the electricity supply from three solar projects, collectively producing 150 MW, is on track to commence in the ensuing month. Parallelly, two separate Independent Power Producers’ wind ventures, each capable of generating 50 MW, are progressing through various developmental phases.
