ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the government is implementing several initiatives aimed at equipping young people with professional skills to better integrate them into the workforce. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of these measures during a meeting held in the city, underscoring the notion that the youth are the future of the nation.

According to Radio Pakistan, Sharif has directed that the pace of providing technical and vocational training, aligned with contemporary requirements, be accelerated. The Prime Minister noted that comprehensive training programs initiated through the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) are already yielding positive outcomes in leveraging the potential of the youth workforce. He stressed that providing technical and vocational training, along with internationally recognized certifications, remains a top priority for the government.

During the meeting, officials briefed the Prime Minister on the initiatives designed to create employment opportunities for youth at both domestic and international levels. The briefing highlighted the introduction of the Matric-Tech program in thirty-two educational institutions under the Federal Ministry of Education, aimed at promoting technical training. Additionally, plans are underway to launch an Inter-Tech program, which will offer vocational and technical training at the intermediate level.
