LAHORE: The government is undertaking extensive efforts to ensure the availability of petroleum products throughout the nation, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb announced during a media briefing on Sunday. The Minister assured that petrol, diesel, and LPG are accessible in cities and towns, with strict monitoring in place to maintain the energy system.
According to Radio Pakistan, the government has absorbed a financial burden of 69 billion rupees to provide petroleum products at minimal prices, aiming to shield consumers from the economic impact of regional tensions. Minister Aurangzeb acknowledged that while these tensions and ongoing conflicts could impact energy infrastructure, stability is anticipated to persist until next month.
The Finance Minister also highlighted the preparation of a targeted relief package for vulnerable segments of society. This initiative involves collaboration among multiple ministries, including Petroleum, IT, and Finance, to devise a coordinated strategy. Additionally, the government is evaluating the potential effects of the current economic situation on trade and investment.
