ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal stated that the government is committed to providing equal opportunities for women to progress in various sectors. According to Radio Pakistan, the minister made these remarks during a ceremony in Islamabad, emphasizing the government’s efforts to empower women economically and socially.
The minister highlighted women’s superior abilities in many areas and their significant roles alongside men across different fields. He reiterated that empowering women is a fundamental objective of the current government, which has introduced business loans with easy repayment plans to support women’s economic empowerment.
Iqbal also cited modern research indicating that economically empowering women results in more positive outcomes for families, as women tend to invest a larger portion of their income in their children’s education, health, and nutrition. He noted that the “Uraan Pakistan Programme” has integrated quality education for women as a core component to further these goals.
