Islamabad: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has criticized a news report for inaccuracies in the reported figures of candidates applying for the Central Superior Services (CSS) examinations, highlighting an incorrect comparison of applicant numbers from 2022 and 2025. The FPSC emphasized the importance of accurate data representation, noting that the report failed to consider key factors such as the number of applicants for the screening tests (MPT) for CSS, which attracted a significant number of candidates.

According to Press Information Department, the report also overlooked the Special CSS-2023 initiative by the federal government, which resulted in the allocation of 141 aspirants from minority groups, females, and underprivileged areas. This special measure has had cascading impacts on subsequent years, which were not reflected in the report. FPSC maintains that joining the Civil Service through CSS remains a significant aspiration for the youth of Pakistan, as evidenced by the data.

FPSC expressed its willingness to support and cooperate with media outlets in publishing reports on such important topics, emphasizing the necessity of conducting due diligence and ensuring the accuracy and appropriate interpretation of data.
