KABUL: Former Afghan Intelligence Chief Masoud Andarabi has alleged that the Taliban regime in Afghanistan is supporting terrorist groups within Pakistan by receiving financial assistance from India. He claimed that this support is part of India’s strategy to expand its influence in Afghanistan, particularly after its defeat in the conflict known as Marka-e-Haq.
According to Radio Pakistan, Andarabi shared these assertions during an interview with The Diplomat. He suggested that India’s backing of the Taliban is intended to increase its sway over the group Fitna al-Khawarij, with the ultimate goal of leveraging the group against Pakistan. Andarabi further stated that the Taliban’s provision of sanctuary to Fitna al-Khawarij is a significant factor contributing to Pakistan’s cross-border military operations and the ongoing tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
