Finance Minister Engages Industry Leaders to Boost Pakistan’s Export Competitiveness


Islamabad: In a meeting with key industry stakeholders led by the Pakistan Regional Economic Forum, Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb focused on enhancing Pakistan’s export competitiveness and industrial growth. The discussions underscored the importance of strengthening export-led sectors as part of the country’s economic strategy.



According to Press Information Department, the Finance Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to engaging with industry leaders to ensure policies support sustainable growth. Discussions centered on improving productivity, fostering innovation, and enhancing global competitiveness. The meeting also highlighted the strategic importance of export-oriented industries in driving economic activity and Pakistan’s presence in international markets.



The minister emphasized the role of modernization, technological upgrades, and value addition in boosting export competitiveness. He encouraged industry leaders to innovate and explore higher-value market segments. The delegation presented initiatives aimed at joint ventures, foreign investment, and technology collaboration, while emphasizing the need for aligned fiscal and regulatory policies.



Industry representatives stressed the importance of supporting value-added textiles and maintaining a streamlined taxation framework to foster business expansion. They also called for reviewing labor costs and regulatory levies to ensure competitiveness. The Finance Minister appreciated the suggestions and noted alignment with the government’s reform agenda.
