WASHINGTON: The Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue of Pakistan, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, held a meeting with the President and Chairman of the U.S. EXIM Bank, John Jovanovic, in Washington, D.C. The discussions centered on enhancing economic and commercial ties between Pakistan and the United States, particularly through long-term project financing and boosting trade in agricultural commodities and hydrocarbons.

According to Press Information Department, the Finance Minister expressed support for the U.S. EXIM Bank’s proposal to develop a comprehensive framework aimed at consolidating priority projects and establishing a multi-year transaction pipeline. This initiative is expected to facilitate U.S. financing, technology, equipment, and services for Pakistan. Both parties agreed on the importance of identifying immediate opportunities for collaboration, appointing focal persons, and advancing towards finalizing the strategic framework. The goal is to have this framework signed during the United Nations General Assembly session in September 2026.
