Islamabad: In a recent interactive session, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, engaged with participants of the URAAN Overseas Pakistanis Summer Scholars Programme. This six-week initiative, organized by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, aims to involve overseas Pakistani students and young scholars in the country’s development efforts.

According to Press Information Department, the Finance Minister welcomed the scholars to the Finance Division and emphasized the importance of their continued engagement with Pakistan. He encouraged them to utilize their knowledge and international experience to aid in the nation’s economic development. He outlined the Government’s accomplishments in macroeconomic stability and its ongoing focus on sustainable economic growth through increased exports, investment, and fiscal discipline.

The Minister also discussed improvements in Pakistan’s sovereign credit profile and the Government’s actions to engage with international capital markets, including the issuance of the Panda Bond. He highlighted the establishment of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA) as a step towards capitalizing on digital finance opportunities. Additionally, he detailed measures to enhance the business environment, such as rationalized taxation and competitive energy pricing, to boost export competitiveness and sustainable growth.

During a subsequent question-and-answer session, the scholars and the Finance Minister exchanged views on economic reforms and investment opportunities. The Minister reiterated the Government’s commitment to fostering an environment where young professionals can significantly contribute to Pakistan’s economic transformation.
