Islamabad, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has reiterated the government’s commitment to work with the private sector and relevant stakeholders to propel Pakistan toward a modernized taxation framework. This commitment was emphasized during a meeting of the Steering Committee on the Digitalization of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) held in Islamabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Finance Minister Aurangzeb noted that the digitalization of the FBR is not only essential for improving tax collection and administration but also for fostering sustained economic growth. The modernization of taxation processes is seen as a critical step toward enhancing the efficiency and transparency of the tax administration across the country.
The committee reviewed the progress made so far in digitalizing FBR’s operations and discussed ways to further streamline the tax collection system. The meeting aimed to explore avenues for improving transparency and efficiency in tax administration to support Pakistan’s broader economic objectives.
