ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has emphasized the necessity for ongoing investments in cybersecurity and secure digital infrastructure to protect taxpayer information. His statements came during a meeting in Islamabad, where he assessed the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) progress on the National Faceless Centre, a crucial component of the new Tax Operating Model. This initiative is designed to establish a technology-driven, centralized, and transparent framework for tax administration.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Finance Minister highlighted the National Faceless Centre as a significant reform initiative aimed at modernizing tax administration through increased digitalization and transparency. Aurangzeb stressed the importance of a well-structured pilot phase to verify the new operating model before it is implemented nationwide. He noted the need for operational readiness and early identification of challenges to ensure a seamless transition to the new system.
