Finance Minister Aurangzeb Discusses Automotive Investment with Suzuki Delegation in Islamabad

Islamabad, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, engaged with a delegation from Suzuki Motors Corporation (SMC) today, discussing potential investments and policy initiatives aimed at boosting Pakistan’s automobile industry.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting included SMC’s Japanese Global Vice President, Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, and the CEO and MD of Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited (PSMCL), Mr. Hiroshi Kawamura, alongside officers from the Finance Division and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). The discussions focused on Suzuki’s long-term investment plans in Pakistan and proposed policy interventions to expand the automobile market and enhance regional competitiveness.

Senator Aurangzeb acknowledged Suzuki’s enduring contributions to Pakistan’s automotive sector since 1983 and expressed optimism about the country’s potential as a future hub for exports. He highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting clean energy and its readiness to support investments in this vital area. The Suzuki delegation expressed appreciation for the government’s support and committed to collaborating on mutual goals to bolster Pakistan’s economic growth.
