Finance Minister Aurangzeb and IMF Director Discuss Economic Reforms and Stability

WASHINGTON: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and IMF Director Jihad Azour convened in Washington D.C. to discuss Pakistan’s ongoing structural reforms and its commitment to meeting international financial obligations. The meeting underscored the importance of macroeconomic stability and revenue mobilization amid global economic challenges.

According to Radio Pakistan, Aurangzeb emphasized Pakistan’s successful Eurobond repayment during his discussion with Azour. The Finance Minister also highlighted the economic effects of the Middle Eastern conflict, noting its significant impact as a supply shock. Both parties agreed on the necessity of fiscal and structural reforms to ensure sustainable economic growth.
