Islamabad: Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi expressed his admiration for Dr. Najiba Arif’s contributions to the Academy of Letters Pakistan at a farewell ceremony in her honor. Dr. Arif, the outgoing Chairperson, was recognized for her efforts in promoting literature and enhancing the institution’s performance.

According to Press Information Department, Minister Khichi emphasized Dr. Arif’s role in continuing the positive initiatives of her predecessors and strengthening the Academy’s impact on national progress. He highlighted her guidance and valuable advice as assets that would be sought in the future. Secretary for National Heritage and Culture Asad Rehman Gilani praised her leadership qualities and commitment, particularly noting the success of her initiative “Chai, Baatein aur Kitaabein” which has garnered national recognition.

Dr. Najiba Arif expressed satisfaction with leaving the institution in a positive environment and confidence in its future leadership. During her tenure, she focused on promoting emerging writers and poets and encouraged young literary talent. Director General Pakistan National Council of the Arts Ayub Jamali, former Director General Department of Archaeology and Museums Aman Ullah, and other officials also commended her dedication and impact on the Academy. The ceremony concluded with gifts and a birthday celebration for Dr. Arif.
