Federal Minister Orders Feasibility Study for Model Highway, Seeks Investment for Expressway


ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has instructed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to conduct a feasibility study for the development of the 123-kilometer Mansehra-Naran highway as a model project. The initiative aims to enhance tourism and improve trade links with China.



According to Press Information Department, the minister has also opened the Guru Nanak Expressway Project to foreign investment, highlighting its significance to the Sikh community. He invited investments from the Sikh diaspora in the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States to ensure the project meets international standards.



During a special meeting of the NHA, Abdul Aleem Khan reviewed the progress of several highway projects, stressing the importance of meeting deadlines and implementing 100 percent safety features. He emphasized the need for modern rest areas and green belts in all new highway projects, advocating for sustainable and environmentally friendly infrastructure development.
